In his television program Con Maduro +, the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, denounced a campaign of psychological, political, diplomatic and military aggression by the United States, which began six weeks ago, and stressed that it has strengthened the national consensus in defense of the country’s sovereignty and peace.
From the “Gran Cacique Maiquetía” hotel, in the municipality of La Guaira, the head of state said that the Venezuelan response has been characterized by “poise, serenity and firmness” in the face of external provocations.
The president noted that the U.S. strategy is based on three elements: a false narrative, an escalation of tensions and the search for an incident to justify an intervention.

“The narrative about Venezuela, about President Maduro and the Bolivarian revolution is extravagant. It is not credible by anyone,” he said, calling it “crude, a lie” and denied by reports from international bodies such as the UN’s World Crime and Crime Organization, the World Customs Organization and the European Union.
The president also mentioned that, in the past, even DEA reports matched these reports, contradicting the accusations against Venezuela. According to the president, Washington’s campaign not only failed, but generated a national consensus that encompasses 90% of the population in support of sovereignty and peace.
In this sense, he highlighted the results of independent polls that reflect a 68% willingness of Venezuelans to defend the country with weapons in case of aggression, while rejection of the United States Government reaches 93%, and figures of the extremist opposition such as Leopoldo López, Julio Borges and María Corina Machado register a repudiation of more than 90%.
In addition, studies indicate that support for President Maduro and the Bolivarian government has grown to 61%, the highest level since their election, according to measurements by independent economic groups. The dignitary stressed that support for the Venezuelan extreme right, backed by Washington, has been reduced to 6%, remaining “practically on the way to disappearing.”

“If they were looking for an effect of political, economic or psychological weakening of Venezuela, they achieved the opposite,” he said, stressing that the aggression strengthened national unity and the international support of social movements, human rights organizations and governments in Latin America, the Caribbean and the world.
In this context, the president urged redoubling efforts in defense of national sovereignty, peace and social justice, in the face of disinformation campaigns and external threats. “For us, freedom has no alternative. It is not freedom or slaves, we will never be slaves of anyone,” he declared, evoking historical figures such as Simón Bolívar and Hugo Chávez.
“The people of the United States do not want more war and even less a war in the Caribbean and South America,” said the Bolivarian leader
